Dearest World Shifting Friends,

As many of you are aware, I have written extensively about 2012, and the years leading up to it, in my book ’2012: A Clarion Call’, in many of my articles since 2009, and on my FB Wall, which is evolving into a Community of Light and a place for the gathering of Ambassadors for the Light. I have written endlessly about the facts and determining factors which make 2012, quite simply, THE most instrumental turning point for humanity and the Earth. For this reason, I am going to refrain from overly referring to 2012 here, and instead direct the focus of this message on the year 2013, which is tantamount, and can be referred to as nothing less than a Blank Slate for Humanity.

2012 – Resolution – Dissolution & Conscious Evolution

Well,… can you believe it? We are now on the other side of the Shift. We are still in one piece, well almost! And… for those of us who are spiritually awake, psychologically integrated and consciously aware, we are vibrating at the highest frequency yet in this life time, even if some of us may not feel as if we are! It is also true to say that many of us feel worn to the bone, utterly exhausted, and physically symptomatic, as we continue to integrate the intense and unprecedented processes that we have been immersed in, having journeyed through lifetimes on what feels like an evolutionary roller-coaster ride! Every healing process possible appears to have arisen for clearing in this lifetime.

A New Epoch with a New Consciousness

On 21.12.12, all timelines converged, both personal and Collective, past and future. And so it is, that many of the most evolved and advanced Souls among us have undergone the most intense, radical and profound challenges and transformations. Many of us will have felt (may still feel so to some degree) as if we have been squeezed through the eye of a needle, as one intense challenge after another presented in our lives with no let up, or barely a moments pause. It was as if just when we felt we were about to turn a corner, another evolutionary turn of the wheel occurred and we struggled on with yet another extreme test of our character or faith. This was especially true of 2012, which really did turn up the heat to almost beyond bearable for our highest good and conscious evolution. And thus it was that we reached the ultimate threshold of 21.12.12, and passed through the eye of the needle to arrive on new ground, in a New Epoch, that requires a new level of consciousness. And, it is those of us who are consciously awake and spiritually integrated who will be the torchbearers and Way-Showers for this New Epoch. However, first we must experience a period of reorientation that takes us to the Spring Equinox of 2013. This is the first Equinox of a new 26,000-year Galactic Cycle, and the initiatory moment for the New Consciousness of a New Epoch to begin to anchor as a living reality within personal and Collective consciousness.

During this period of reorientation it is crucial that we consciously acknowledge, seek to discover, and consciously align with the New Consciousness. For, at this early post 21.12.12 stage, we are still too close to the Shift to have fully integrated it. A New Consciousness activated within personal and Collective Consciousness (at a conscious level for awakened ones and an unconscious level for those who remain unawakened) on 21.12.12, now it needs time to anchor and then to begin to establish. The time of the Spring Equinox, (Autumn Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere), is an important initiatory moment for this, as will be the time around the Summer Solstice, (Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere). The following Equinoxes and Solstices of the years leading to 2016 will prove instrumental in the further anchoring of this New Consciousness. In 2016, when the Galactic Alignment process has completed, we shall again find ourselves on new ground as we are fully released from the processes of the Shift. The years between 2016 and 2020 will prove critical, as will the years between 2020 and 2050. But these details are for future writings. For the moment, let us focus on the Now!

For many of us, we could not see the wood for the trees as the literal bombardment of personal conscious evolutionary events overwhelmed us at times, as our hearts and Souls responded to the Evolutionary Call to resolve, dissolve and consciously evolve. And so, we are emerging into a New Epoch. One which is filled with the promise of the fulfilment of inspirational prophecy which speaks of “A Thousand Years of Peace” and “A New Golden Age”. Prophecy which has been handed to us by the most wise, evolved and advanced of our human ancestors, the Indigenous Peoples of previous millennia, many of whom were hybrids of extra-dimensional beings and homosapiens, including many of the Mayans and First Nations People. Indeed, some of us carry this same hybrid ancestry within our own Divine Blueprint. Many of us are indeed what I term as the ‘New Human Prototypes’. (Please refer to the Blog page on my website to read more about this.)

2013 – The Blank Slate

2013 presents a Blank Slate to humanity. 2013 affords each and every one of us an opportunity to write a New Story – not ‘his story’ which is a patriarchal one (history), or ‘her story,’ which is that of the matriarch, but something else entirely. There is no more ‘his-story’ to be made, or written, only – Our Story. The all important story to write now is the story of a New Humanity, living in a New Epoch, with a New Consciousness. You may ask, “What is this ‘New Consciousness?” “What are the Ways of the New Epoch?” and “What makes 2013 different from any other year in human history?” As we move through 2013, all this and more will be explained on my FB Wall and on my website, in my writings and the books yet to come.

For myself, a four year body of Work completed on 21.12.12, Work which I had been immersed in since January 2009. I feel that I hold a deep gnosis in regard to the answer to the question that is now on all of our lips, “Where to from 21.12.12?”. Gnosis means to know without knowing how we know. It is not something we know because we read or heard it from some other source. Indeed, I never read other people’s writings on conscious evolution, or any other subjects, as I do not wish to influence the pure stream of consciousness and gnosis that comes through myself, either from those whom I refer to as The Luminous Ones, or from my own Higher Self. I am sharing this because I do feel that I understand where we need to go from here. In the coming year, I will share my understanding, ideas, vision and concepts with you. I believe the New Consciousness is not going to be a ‘knowing’ as in the old ways that often originated from what I term the ‘mental matrix,’ but instead will originate from a deeply felt gnosis sourced from a newly activated consciousness grid that I refer to as the ‘Heart Matrix’.

“Evosphere” – The Fourth Evolutionary Sphere

The Heart Matrix is a Unity Consciousness Grid, whereas the mental matrix was/is a grid of duality consciousness. We could postulate that the ‘mental matrix’ is that phenomenon which was first introduced in 1922 by Pierre Teilhard De Chardin in his ‘Cosmogenesis’, as the ‘Noosphere’, which he described as – “The sphere of human thought” – (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noosphere). It was Pierre Teilhard de Chardin who coined the term “Noosphere” to explain the phenomenon of the unconscious sharing of information through a ‘thought-field’ that spans continents. The noosphere is considered the third ‘sphere’ in a succession of evolutionary phases of development of humanity/Earth. First, there is the ‘geosphere’, and then the ‘biosphere’, and, following this is Pierre Teilhard De Chardin’s ‘noosphere’ (unified thought-field/global brain resonance).

The unique convergence of all timelines that was part of the 21.12.12 phenomenon, along with the evolutionary period of time leading to it, has seen the formulation and activation of a fourth ‘sphere’, one which is a conscious evolutionary ‘Heart Matrix’ (unified heart-field/global heart resonance) for which I use the term ‘Evosphere’. (Conscious Evolutionary Sphere). The evosphere has emerged out of human conscious evolution and has the heart as its compass. It is inhabited by consciously evolving and awakened human beings who (as the Inca prophesied for these times) are transforming from homosapiens to homo-luminous. As such, we are co-creating a new Matrix, one with a resonant heart-field, an Evosphere – “the sphere of human feeling”. (Note I use the term ‘feeling’ and not ‘emotion’ as feeling is the higher octave of emotion).

Where To From Here?

So, where do we go from here in terms of personal and global evolution?

How do we now proceed with regard to our own inner-development and integration?

How do we begin to facilitate global evolution and the manifestation of “A Thousand Years of Peace” and a “New Golden Age?”

How do we establish progressive and sustainable systems which foster harmony and care, between people, communities, countries and nations?

What new set of values and key foundation stones do we need to set in place to ensure the establishment of sustainable world peace?

There is no doubt, that for those of us who are consciously awakening or awakened, the decades leading to 21.12.12, and especially since 1999, (the period of time that the Maya referred to as The Quickening), have ensured that we have taken an evolutionary leap. However, the task falls upon us now, post 21.12.12, to become fully integrated and embodied as psychologically integrated, consciously evolving and spiritually balanced individuals. As such, we are appropriately qualified to offer ourselves as co-creators and evolutionary guides for the New Epoch. The fact is that it is only such individuals who are best qualified to support the establishing of new personal values, choices and lifestyles, and new global evolutionary systems.

Post 21.12.12, leaves us with a legacy. This being that it is now more possible than at any other time in human history to establish world peace during these coming years/decades. In order for this to transpire as a living reality, millions of people must become sufficiently integrated if humanity is to take its next evolutionary steps.

Progressive global evolution requires more than individuals operating merely with a high level of intellect. What is of equal importance is individuals who also possess a highly refined emotional (feeling) intelligence. When an integrated, whole and unified consciousness is expressed through such people in the world it becomes possible to develop and implement new sustainable systems that prioritise and promote the well-being of the individual, the Collective and the Earth.

People are tired of the old paradigm models that foster duality. Resources are drained by governments which manifest dysfunctional economic, ecological, sociological and political systems that further foster dysfunctional societies. The way to global peace and harmony will never be established through old paradigm governing and policy. Part of my own Calling in the coming years will be to address the ‘global’ situation more directly, and to seek to introduce new ideas and thoughts that may support the co-creation of a New Golden Age for Humanity. One idea that I wish to develop is the establishment of new ‘Global Advisory Councils’ formed by those who recognise that conscious cooperation, collaboration and co-creation is the only way to ever transform the duality model of a ‘survive’ mentality dysfunctional global system, into something new and inspirational, founded in unity, and establishing a healthy, functional and thriving global culture.

The Other Side of the Shift

The annals of human history are filled with events of trauma, fundamentalism, war, conflict, dictatorship, uprisings, rebellion, cruelty and revolution. Where is Peace in the annals of our history?

There has yet to be a global system in which a healthy economy thrives and is capable of sustaining All. There has yet to be a unified, people-centred, political system that supports the needs and respects the rights of ALL. Despite the wealth of previous empires, despite all the revolutions, protests and campaigns, never in the entire history of humankind has there been Peace on Earth. The fact remains that global authorities are not fully qualified to establish that which supports conscious global evolution.

The stories of our ancestors have left deep trauma imprints encoded within our genetic DNA. However, the lead up to 21.12.12, and this date itself, when all timelines converged, enabled us to transcend the past. We can begin to implement new ideas and a higher vision for humanity, thus establishing conscious ways in which to co-create a peaceful and sustainable world. The continued need for us to evolve into psycho-spiritually integrated and mature individuals remains ever present if we are to manifest new global socio-political systems which prioritise peace, harmony, equality and wellness on all levels, for all. It is those among us who are most integrated and balanced and of a humanitarian nature who must guide humanity in a new and positive direction. It is such individuals who will offer the greatest potential for the evolutionary transformation of Humanity, and for a peaceful and sustainable Global Community.

I wish to mention here briefly, (I speak extensively of this in my new book ‘A 21st Century Handbook for Psychological, Conscious and Spiritual Evolution: From Personal to Global Evolution’ available August 2013) that we now also find ourselves in the midst of a Spiritual Evolution. Our relationship with spirituality is now subject to radical questioning as we sense the rumblings of change beneath the surface of the spiritual/religious ground we have stood upon for thousands of years.

Consciously evolving individuals seek a spirituality that speaks to who they are becoming as consciously evolved individuals in the 21st Century. And, just as the many layers that have hidden the heart of the True Self are peeled away through conscious awakening and integration, so too are the many layers that have hidden the true heart of religion beginning to fall away. We now seek an authentic spiritual and religious practice that aligns with our evolving consciousness and the New Epoch that we find ourselves in.

We need to walk a spiritual path that reflects the consciousness of these times. Our conscious evolution calls for a contemporary spiritual practice founded on Love – for it is Love and only Love which is to be found at the heart of ALL religion.

So, how to begin establishing a conscious, progressive and evolving global society? One that upholds new socio-political and Spiritual values?

Here are three maps for evolving consciousness that I have created which speak directly to the question, “Where to from here?” (A full explanation of each can be found in my new book, as mentioned earlier).

*Unconditional Love *Unconditional Positive Regard *Compassion *Empathy *Understanding *Transparency *Mindfulness *Equality *Conscious Communication *Unity Consciousness

Six Core Values for a New Paradigm

*Equality *Inclusivity *Understanding *Forgiveness *Empathy *Co-Creation *Co-Operation *Co-Support *Collaboration *Non-Monetary Transactions *Non-Violent/Compassionate Communication *Unconditional Giving, Receiving and Doing

21.12.12 – A Clarion Call

The Clarion Call that was 21.12.12 took many of us to the very edge of our evolutionary process in order to reveal the vast potential of all that lay beyond that point. 2013, and the years and decades to follow, invites us to step out of the old paradigm and into a New Epoch – one which urgently requires wise stewardship. Those of us who are consciously awake and/or are becoming ever more so, are the new evolutionary guides for this New Epoch, and as such are required to embody and live the New Consciousness. What are the ways of New Consciousness? How do we inform ourselves, evolve and align with it? Please continue to read my posts on my Facebook Wall, or regularly check my website, for some exciting news that I will share with you in the coming weeks. News which speaks to these very questions.

For now, I conclude here with a quote which I wrote on the Eve of 21.12.12 for the New Epoch:

“We are witnessing the birth of the next level of human evolution. Throughout millennia, we have been experiencing our physical evolution, and in more recent times, our psychological evolution. Now a New Era is upon us. We stand upon the threshold of a new Age of Conscious Evolution.

Just as human evolution has evolved us from primal ‘id’ drives to ego formation, and our psychological integration catalyses the evolution from ego to I, so it is that our conscious evolution will initiate an evolutionary process from ‘I’ to ‘I Am’. What follows this is a Spiritual evolution from I Am to I AM – which leads us back to the very heart of our Spiritual Origins.” Nicolya Christi

Love in Evolutionary Waves.

There is an old folktale that tells of the wise fool who arrives at the door of the king’s castle asking for entry. He is immediately told by the guard that the king’s decree is for anyone who tells a lie to be hanged. Then, upon asking for his destination, the wise fool replies, “I am going to be hanged.” “I don’t believe you!” exclaimed the guard, “you are lying.” “Very well, then. If I have told a lie, hang me!” “But if I hang you,” replies the guard, “then you would have told the truth and I shouldn’t have hung you!” “Exactly,” replies the wise fool, “this is your definition of truth.”

The nature of “truth” in our subjective world lies more in the realm of rhetoric than it does in relation to any objective sense of the word. Nobel laureate writer Doris Lessing makes a parody of this in her novel The Sentimental Agents in the Volyen Empire, where one of the main protagonists falls victim to the dreaded disease of “Rhetoric.” In a bid to cure him, another friend introduces him to what outwardly is tactfully disguised as the “Institute for Historical Research,” when in reality it was constructed as the “Hospital for Rhetorical Diseases.” Rhetoric then, for Lessing, is a disease which can afflict people almost unknowingly — the dis-ease of misapplied language for an explicit agenda. I wonder if many of us are not also suffering from the disease of rhetoric? Is it not, after all, the “forked tongue” that creates much of our polarity?

Unfolding global events are creating polarized energies — fear, stress, tension, etc. — that also create disruption in our everyday lives. It feels as if we are being distracted by deliberate design. Further, the presence of fear, anxiety, and distress, as it permeates through the fabric of our societies, can weaken the mental and emotional resilience of people. Then slowly as we begin to see so much of the negative aspects of the world, we find it easy to lose our focus, often without realizing it. The creep of negativity can be imperceptible at first. Maybe we just have feelings of restlessness, then an encroaching apathy. The shadowy wisps of negativity slither in to disturb, disrupt, and distract our thinking, focus, and energy. Anger may also arise, as well as the feeling of deception and loss. Emotions of blame and injustice may also creep in, adding to their counterpart — disempowerment. Negative energy thus acts to disturb harmonious and developmental thinking. One of the immediate responses to this is frustration — a sense of being disempowered in a world where everything is seemingly breaking down. It is as if we are being swung back and forth upon some giant pendulum. This is part of the human experience of existing within a physical reality of duality. Life can be likened to a polarity game — a pendulum swing between opposites.

Polarities trick us into the illusion of taking sides, such as choosing which is the “winning” side and which the “losing.” Yet we pay for taking emotional sides: To emotionally feel victorious, or defeated, is an energetic state of duality. We are being distracted into wasting considerable energies if we divide the world into people who are good or evil, rich or poor, intelligent or stupid, important or insignificant. These are social categories based on artificially manufactured criteria — they are not fundamental truths. By being distracted into the “good” and “bad” of the world we are blighted by the illusion of duality and forced to make judgments. The act of judging is yet another external distraction that takes the attention away from the real source within a person. So too do the strongly polarized energies of fear, stress, anger, etc. disrupt our inner balance, and distract us from ourselves. Polarity forces us to view events and challenges as blessings or curses — rarely do we see them as simply events to be experienced. So we should refrain from too easily jumping into the polarity game. This is an emotional seesaw that sways a person from one encounter to the next. Hakim Sanai, an 11th-century Persian poet, wrote that: “Good’ and ‘evil’ have no meaning in the world of the Word: they are names, coined in the world of ‘me’ and ‘you.’”

Let us remember that we are living in the 21st century A.D. — “attention distracter.”

We may not be able to escape the effects of polarity completely, yet we can shift ourselves to a more harmonious position. Physical life will ensure that the pendulum will continue to swing, only that with awareness and restraint we may escape being carried along with it.

We need to tell ourselves that negative feelings only control us if we give our power to the negative energy. Negativity by itself has no capacity for control; so it seeks to exploit vulnerable situations and circumstances. Negativity is not self-sustainable, so it must be fed. It requires that we give it our energy, our focus, fear, and importance. Its presence is a distortion. Imagine that we walk into a dark, unlit room; the darkness surrounds us and we feel that it is overpowering. Yet we only need to light one tiny match to bring a glow of light into the room that disperses the darkness. This analogy fits also for how negativity operates. We feel it is overwhelming, when in fact this is its weakness. The truth is that no matter our states of bitterness, anger, frustration, even depression, they can be overcome by only the slightest presence of positive focus (the lighted match).

Our responsibility then is to empower ourselves against distraction. We should be ambassadors for the change we wish to see. In order not to sell ourselves short it is important we normalize the new ideals. If we become sucked into conspiracy, paranoia, or angry behavior then we do a disservice to our ideals and give our detractors their excuses to use against us. In our everyday life we are the “door-to-door salespeople” for the ideals and change we wish to see in the world. After all, we wouldn’t buy any products from a frantic, frustrated salesperson… would we? So in order to quietly overwhelm the current models we need to become the best we can be, and to normalize the future into being. We are no longer dealing with alternative theories. We are representing the “new normal” — not the “new age.”

We are not interested in the world’s mental games anymore. The negative aspects within the world know they are clinging on for their last gasp, which is why they are struggling with a fury. We can take this not as a sign of their winning, but of their desperation. Their time has already come — it is now only a matter of time for allowing the transition to penetrate.

For many of us, 2012 has felt like it’s been a continued test of endurance as aspects of our lives undergo change and challenge. Ever since the financial markets crashed in September 2008, the globalized world of international media has been telling us that we are all in crisis. The banks, we are told, are failing under incredible debt — despite the trillions of printed paper notes that were offered to float the financial world into Eden. The result is that untold numbers of people are pushed into situations of stress and financial difficulties as credit debt piles up, loans are called in, mortgages cannot be paid, jobs are lost or transferred elsewhere, etc., etc. — and all the time, the media bombards us with a perplexing array of crisis news, domestic trivia, and distracting entertainment (or should it be called “entrainment”?). Naturally, this resolves little except to create and indulge a confused state of mind.

This confusion is constructed in the world around us as our external projections — it is the wants, hopes, greed, security, possessions, etc. that we manifest in our heads to be the objects we reach out for. In other words, we have become accustomed to living in outreach rather than within reach. The consequences of this behavior, and state of mind, are that many of us increasingly live outside of our means. We then normalize this state of affairs; and if we slip away from this we then crave it more. The more we are accustomed to living amongst our external projections of possession and security, the more we are vulnerable to their absence, and their dire financial costs. Crisis is often a state of mind because we live in a world that is not in the present, or perhaps not even possible for us — so we create a world of falsity to supply the needs we either think or are persuaded to think we need.

We feel anger at the banks because they are the new robber barons* who exploited our needs and wishes for credit loans, houses, new cars, modern kitchens, etc. Then the banks were repaid with taxpayer’s money when their dubious trading practices turned to mush. Yet by not living with the reality of our present — by living within the allure of our external projections — we became weak and vulnerable to these temptations and promises of betterment. Their crises are now our crises for many of us because we bought into the same game, whether we understood the rules or not. We shared a similar state of mind; and this “mind” was lulled into living in a world where we thought we could have it all at little extra cost. We forgot about paying the ferryman**, his interest at 20 percent above inflation. To continue with this metaphor, it is like being stuck on the river, dependent upon the oars of another. Globalized media loves such an image that shows our collective predicament. Only that it is not a collective crisis.

Global transition is, as it says on the tin, a global phenomenon. Yet “crisis” is about a state of place as well as a state of mind; and this state of place is not universal. Where a person lives dictates, to various influential degrees, how one lives. As a traveler I have lived and traveled through various places that, as an English-born “Westerner,” I am socially unaccustomed to. Such places include Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, and recently India. When I was driving through Morocco in late 2009 — a year on from the first financial troubles — I noticed how people did not appear to be involved in our crisis, as they had their own daily survival issues to deal with. They were living within the needs and struggles of their everyday present circumstances. Such living was focused upon another kind of world. It was still a world where crises existed, only that such challenges took forms related to their cultural context. These were immediate needs, and still very much within their means.

In my recent journey in India, and the intense experiences it offered me, I felt a similar sense of a people who lived within the present. The notion of a global banking and credit crisis just is not part of the everyday experience for many of the local Indians. And why should it be? After all, this is a context and situation that has largely been constructed and maintained by Western peoples forging a world that exists to provide for us beyond our means. This, like our insatiable exploitation of finite energy sources, is clearly unsustainable. So why are so many of us “addicted” to living in a world that projects beyond our present means? Is our mind-set — our greed for need — insatiable?

Perhaps this is one of the reasons why the world appears to becoming increasingly confusing for so many people. It is becoming a distorted fantasy — like walking through a carnival hall of mirrors where shapes and sizes are oddly and grotesquely distorted. These are the distortions and distractions of our externalized objects — our projections onto the reality-canvas around us. As the safety phrase on the side mirrors of motor vehicles so expressively warn us: Objects in mirror are closer than they appear. This is because the mirrors’ convexity, whilst providing a useful field of view, also makes objects appear smaller. Similarly, the mirrors of our perception distort the immediacy of our situation. Instead of living in outreach for a world that is constructed for us seemingly farther away — i.e., beyond our means — we need to be living much more within the present, and thus within sustainable needs and wishes.

The immediacy of our world — the “reality” of our essential life — is closer to us than it appears. Perhaps the side mirrors we manoeuvre our mobile lives by should serve as signs to awaken something more in us.

* A well-known term used in the 19th century that applied to businessmen, and thus businesses, who were viewed as having used questionable practices to amass their wealth.

** A reference to Greek mythology, where Charon or Kharon is the ferryman of Hades.

When our children were small, an excursion to the City Dump down by San Francisco Bay was a favorite outing for bird-watching and sunsets. And the views!

The birds and views are still there, but what once was a smelly municipal dump is now a 90-acre park, with a waterfront, hillsides, groves of trees, wheelchair-accessible pathways, and hidden trails. Dogs chase after frisbees, and kites sail in the wind. Children learn to ride bikes, and joggers jog. Wildlife has been moving in—herons and hawks, snakes and burrowing owls; occasionally, you can spot a harbor seal out in the water. And on the trails you hear people speaking every language in the world.

I remember being part of a ritual circle with a group of friends atop one of the garbage heaps about 20 years ago, just after the Waterfront Commission had voted to turn the Dump into Cesar Chavez Park. Beneath my feet were twisted nylon stockings and cigarette butts, rusted tin cans and Pepsi bottles—this was before recycling. It was hard to imagine all this trash turning into parkland, but we held hands and sang together and dreamed of green. Now it’s hard to imagine that the park hasn’t been there since the beginning of time.

Not far from the Park is a little bit of kid heaven that looks, at first glance, like a junkyard. It is, but it is a deliberate junkyard where children can hammer and saw and paint and climb and crawl around structures made out of scrap wood, discarded tires, old cargo nets—all built by the kids themselves. Although each child must come with an adult, he or she is not supervised by the adult but trusted to be able to wield a hammer safely and climb to the top of a rope ladder alone.

This playground makes me want to be a kid again so I could bang away to my heart’s content, plunk at the broken innards of the old baby grand in the “noise sculpture,” ride the various rope swings, and disappear inside one of the crazy-quilt castles of wood kids have collectively built over the years. ( I do participate, actually, by recycling all my wood scraps there – removing the nails first, of course.)

I love haunting places that sell secondhand building supplies and junk of various sorts to turn into art projects, and I love dreaming up these artworks up with friends. One year the artist Adrienne Robinson and I went thrift-store shopping to create an outdoor sound sculpture made entirely of cast-offs, keeping an eye out for potential percussion instruments, things that satisfyingly went clunk and bang. Our plan was to build this junk sculpture to hang from an oak tree we knew, right next to a beautiful garden. With great anticipation we went on a search for things that made noise.

We had the best time scavenging in and out of dusty yards and dimly lit shops, and at the end of the day our arms were loaded with treasures. We found a single Ziljan cymbal, slightly cracked but perfect for our purposes; old silver knives, forks, and spoons; the rim of a bicycle wheel; a variety of pot lids; actual castanets; several lengths of bamboo and a variety of rusted wind-chimes and tinkling doo-dads. We spent well under 15 dollars for the lot. Then we set to work.

Every part of the process was great fun, from crashing and banging everything together to test it for sound, to hanging each piece strategically in a grand old oak tree. We had such a good time that we wondered if a creative imagination and a good friend might be all that any of us needs to be happy in this world.

We strung the bamboo so that it struck the cymbal just so when the wind blew from the east, and the bicycle wheel brushed across the forks and spoons when it was spun. Pipes dinged against each other in the breeze, and the castanets clunked satisfyingly when they hit the pot lids. For several days Adrienne and I laughed our heads off while we worked, and when it was finished, we recorded our sound sculpture. I still listen to it when I am having trouble sleeping. The folks there were amazed, and as far as I know, are still showing off our crazy sound sculpture created by “two women who made something out of nothing.”

In 1990, the San Francisco Solid Waste Transfer and Recycling Center (aka the Dump) began hosting artists-in-residence for four-month residencies, during which time each artist scavenges through piles of trash and create works of art from what he or she finds there. Artists are given studio space and an exhibition of their work, which then becomes part of a permanent collection available for exhibit locally and nationally.

Composer Nathaniel Stookey was one artist-in-residence there. He collected pots and pans, beer bottles, oil drums and garbage cans, water jugs and old saws, buckets and pipes, shopping carts and car fenders, and created music for an eight-member percussion ensemble called Junkestra. I heard them perform at Symphony Hall recently and especially loved the sound that the soles of flip-flops have on five-gallon water jugs—not to mention how silver forks, in the hands of a master, can really “get down” on the sides of a shopping cart!

Another artist-in-residence, Ben Burke, has created rafts out of discarded materials and sailed them down the Mississippi River, the Hudson River, and the Adriatic Sea, bringing awareness to the issue of trash recyclability. “Upcycling,” it is called. In one show, puppet installations made of everything from mannequins to old pianos move their heads and reach out with arms, lighting up at the press of a button and whirring into life, evoking childhood dreams and nightmares.

More and more, artists like Boris Bally are creating sculptures, jewelry and collages with a message, from plastic debris. Bally says “. . . the greatest challenge is to make something from trash or discards seem ‘sexy’ or ‘valuable.’” Or make a statement, or bring attention to the problem, or just be downright ingenious and gorgeous!

I found Bally’s work witty and beautiful and wanted to try it out myself, so I went scavenging for trash at a cove by the Bay. Then I came across a heartbreaking photograph in a magazine, of a dead albatross chick decomposing on a beach. What was not decomposing, however, were the contents of its stomach—brightly colored plastic debris, exactly like the debris found at my cove, and on every beach – and in Bally’s necklaces. Mistaking these shiny baubles for nutritious food, the chick’s parent had apparently brought them back to the nest, systematically starving its young. I sat down and wept.

If only . . . if only we all collected plastic junk and made whimsical objets d’art out of it, then we might have kept some out of the ocean and out of the gullets of young seabirds. If only we were not so unconscious, maybe we wouldn’t blithely toss junk over our shoulders without a backward glance.

If only we were collectively more conscious, maybe we wouldn’t have invented non-biodegradable stuff in the first place…

I hope that since our species is technologically savvy enough to go to the moon, that we will work out how to recycle our waste products effectively, preferably in low-tech ways. In this spirit, it is my most fervent prayer that the Sludge People talk to the Fungi People, especially to Paul Stamets, who I consider to be one of our national treasures.

Mycologist Paul Stamets is the author of Mycelium Running: How Mushrooms Can Save the World and uses mushrooms to bioremediate toxic waste; he calls this “mycoremediation.” He says that even though humans are very good at inventing toxins, we’re not so good at eliminating them. (Sadly, I wish we had thought of this when we split the atom, or when we began breaking apart the DNA molecule. Or drilled for oil in the Gulf of Mexico.)

It turns out that fungi have the ability to break down toxic molecules by secreting digestive enzymes that digest liquin and cellulose, disrupting the chemical bonds in a wide range of toxins. They convert cellulose to fungal sugars, thereby rendering the toxins harmless. This may sound too good to be true, but by running a test at the Department of Defense facility on four same-sized piles of diesel-contaminated soil, one next to the other, Stamets showed that it was true.

One pile was inoculated with layers of oyster mushroom spawn in sawdust, two of the other piles were given bacterial treatments, and the fourth pile was the control pile. All the piles were then covered with shade cloth and black plastic tarps against rain, and left for four weeks. At the end of that time, three piles were found to be as black and lifeless as before, stinking of oil, but the pile that had been treated with oyster mushroom spawn was covered with mushrooms, and the now-fragrant soil had turned a light brown!

What was most amazing to Stamets was what came next: an ecosystem began to form around the mushroom-treated soil! As the fungi began to putrefy, they attracted insects that laid their eggs in the now-viable soil. Their larvae attracted birds, and the winds brought airborne seeds that took root in the soil and sprouted. Within six weeks, that pile of previously oil-saturated soil was teeming with healthy green life. It flowered and attracted butterflies, then bees. And to their amazement, says Stamets, after doing the tests, they found that the oyster mushrooms contained no toxicity at all and were actually edible. He refers to this experiment as a “life gateway” and has continued to search for mushrooms that can be used in bioremediation.

Flu viruses, coliform bacteria, and smallpox pathogens can also be rendered harmless in various ways by mycelia. Fertilizers, munitions, pesticides, herbicides, dyes, and estrogen-based pharmaceuticals are all susceptible to the enzymes the fungi secrete. Heavy metals can be absorbed, petroleum hydrocarbons, industrial wastes, wood that has been treated with arsenic . . . The list goes on and on.

My friend Enrique Sanchez picked up some of this arsenic – treated wood at the dump to try out Stamets’ claim, built a chair out of it, inoculated it with shiitake mushroom spores, and put it out on his porch to see what would happen. His wife Miki rolled her eyes, but eventually the chair indeed bore fruit, producing a rich harvest of edible mushrooms that we all ate one night for dinner—and lived to tell the tale.

Stamets has also designed burlap-bag dams to place downstream from farms using pesticides and herbicides. He uses storm debris to fill each sack, then inoculates the filled sacs with mushroom spores that fruit and actually catch the toxins leached into the stream water. This man’s ingenuity seems to know no bounds.

We had a toxic oil spill on our beloved San Francisco Bay a few years ago, and because of the toxicity of the muck, citizens were not allowed to do independent cleanup for the critical first days of the spill. And then I learned that Paul Stamets had raced to the rescue with “hair mats!” Putting out a call to barbers, hairdressers, and animal breeders across the country, he accumulated massive piles of hair that were made into floating mats and dropped by boats onto the worst of the spill, sopping up the sticky black goo and debris. When the mats were saturated, they were collected by boat and piled up on the shore where they were innoculated with mushroom spore. In a few weeks, the hairy piles were covered in mushrooms. Eventually, the whole mess was transformed into soil, with its succession of insects, plants, and birds.

Much closer to home, one thing we can all do is to comb our hair outdoors, weather permitting, and allow our stray hairs to land where they will as an offering to the local birds. During nesting season, your hairs will become the softest linings for bird nests!

Paul Stamets says, “We can engage mycelium to help save the world.” To that, I say a resounding Yes! especially when Stamets dreams up ideas like the Life Box. He suggests that all cardboard—delivery cartons, toilet roll cylinders, and so on—be impregnated with mycelia spores when they are manufactured. Then, instead of either dumping or recycling the cardboard that comes through our doors everyday, we put it in the garden, add some soil, water it, and wait for the mushrooms to come. Add lettuce seeds, and we have planted a salad garden; add pinecones, why then we may have planted a forest.

He claims that researchers at Yeshiva University are discovering that fungi with melanin—skin pigment that darkens when exposed to sunlight—use radiation the way green plants use chlorophyll. The implications of this, of course, are staggering. Stay tuned.

We all make “something” out of an apparent “nothing” everyday, and it doesn’t smell like roses. To mention the unmentionable, we all produce our daily measure of urine and excrement, and most of us do not have any idea where it goes. In the natural world, the waste products of plants and animals cycle back into the soil, providing nutrients for the next generations, available to all of life. Not so for us humans. And therein lies our dilemma: what to do with our wastes?

The children’s book Who Poops? starts with the line “If you eat, you poop,” then each page shows a different animal pooping and the shape of turd it makes. The last page shows a human child sitting on a potty—the only creature not to leave its excrement on the ground.

Except for breathing, defecating is probably the most intimate exchange we have with the natural world. As we breathe, we and all the other animals release our waste product, carbon dioxide, into the air. It is inhaled by the plant kingdom—used; the plants, in turn, exhale their oxygen, which we animals then breathe in. It is a perfect exchange; everything is needed and nothing is wasted.

Likewise, animals consume plants either directly or through other animals who feed on plants and excrete their own wastes back into the soil. Their poop, in turn, provides the nitrogen and phosphorus the plants need to grow. The liquids soak into the soil, and the solid matter dries, is attacked by flies and fungi and rain, and becomes good, sweet-smelling earth again in short order. It is a closed-loop cycle in which nothing is wasted, everything is transformed and useful and, as permaculture guru Toby Hemenway says, produces no toxic landfills.

And then you get to us humans sitting on that toilet. The closed loop has a loophole, and that’s where the trouble begins.

Much of what I have learned about excrement comes from Rose George’s splendid book, The Big Necessity: The Unmentionable World of Human Waste and Why it Matters, which is chock full of hard facts on this little-discussed subject. I am hoping that the temptation to pun will not distract my narrative, but I may not be able to hold it in. Please forgive me in advance for my indiscretions.

The word shit comes from a root word in Greek and Latin that means “to divide, or separate.” The word waste comes from a Latin root word meaning “uncultivated,” so I will use shit to refer to human excrement, as I believe it ought to be cultivated rather than wasted. I am reminded of that scene in one of Dr. Suess’s Grinch stories where someone asks if he might go to the “euphemism.”

Rose George claims that our shit is “as rich as oil, and probably more useful,” but during human history has been an unsolved dilemma that people would rather not talk about. Everywhere, and always, though, the upper classes had options that the lower classes did not, mostly because they had other people deal with their shit, rather than having to do it themselves.

When people lived rurally, in small villages and encampments, shitting happened in specified locations, onto or into the ground. Those in tribal villages by large rivers shat right into the rivers; the local fish benefited, and the river stayed clean. On land, the liquids leached back into the soil, and the solids were covered with earth and allowed to mulch. But as people moved closer together and population centers grew, there was too much of the stuff to contend with. What to do? Well, the upper classes built separate little huts, or deep pits in the ground, or run-off sewers that went “that-a-way”—away being the significant word—and the poor continued to shit on the ground. Worldwide, to a great extent, this is still true.

Where I lived in India in the 1960s, the fields and lanes surrounding our rural home were obstacle courses of shitpiles. Even though Gandhi had tried to teach tatti par mitti, which means, “please cover your shit with soil,” most of the village men simply go out into the field at dawn to do their business, expecting the scavenger pigs to do the job. The women, out of modesty and custom, shit after dark, but that comes with its own dangers, including vulnerability to attack and not seeing where you are stepping. Can you imagine the logistics of squatting in the dark while dealing with five yards of sari cloth?

I worked in the local clinic near Kalianpur, in the Ganges Plain, and during the dry season most people who came into the clinic had skin wounds that had gone septic. A simple cut on the hand could be disastrous because of the polluted dust produced by the 200,000 tons of shit produced in India everyday, which blew everywhere. But on the day the monsoons started, the clinic had lines of people with dysentery of every description, from cholera to amoebaiasis. Waterborne disease vectors were in everything people touched, drank, washed with, and ate.

I was as careful as I could possibly be, but one day I was offered a cup of tea by a fellow worker at the clinic that I felt I couldn’t refuse. The result was a case of bacillary dysentery so severe I thought I would never recover. But I learned firsthand what millions of people face as a matter of course, and what children, worldwide and by the millions, die of every year.

EYE OF THE NEEDLE – EXISTENTIAL SHIFT CRISIS

Where do I belong?

Where do I begin with writing about the existential crisis I now find myself in. This is just one question I have been sitting with for some weeks now. I have been aware that the appropriate moment to write about this would present itself to me, and that moment was this morning, as I woke with a thought that facilitated a coherent sense of the crisis that I am personally experiencing, and that thought was “Where do I belong?”

What I am experiencing personally in relation to The Great Shift is akin to the Eye of the Needle. This may be a reflection of what will present within both the individual and global reality, if we are genuinely committed to taking an evolutionary leap in our personal and collective consciousness. This is the Clarion Call of these Times which present an unprecedented evolutionary opportunity for Humanity. And so, I will now share exactly where I am located in terms of now finding myself at the very core of this Shift experience.

I awoke this morning thinking, “Where on Earth do I belong?” This thought has arisen after weeks of experiencing a further ‘breaking down’ and ‘de-conditioning’ from the old paradigm consciousness. And so, I find myself immersed in a core existential crisis which raises the question ‘Where on Earth do I belong’.

From the perspective of my consciousness, I am acutely aware that I no longer experience myself as aligned with the dysfunctional the old paradigm. At the same time, I am also holding the awareness that the New Paradigm is not yet a physical reality. So, where on Earth do I, or others who are also in this Shift Crisis, belong? The old paradigm is still an all pervading physical reality, whilst the New Paradigm, at this stage, remains a conscious experience of a substantial shift in the consciousness of conscious evolutionaries.

So, those of us who are no longer consciously aligned with the old paradigm and the ways of the old world, face an existential crisis in terms of where to locate ourselves, not only at a physical level, but more especially in terms of the multi-levels of a global system/society that represents the antithesis of the conscious evolutionists we have become.

The emerging New Epoch for Humanity, with its New Paradigm Consciousness and Intelligence, IS the reality outcome of The Shift. This is becoming more and more of a conscious reality for many. For some, it is already their living reality, and this fact presents an existential crisis to those who are now fully rooted in New Paradigm Consciousness.

From the Mental Grid to the Heart Grid

The Shift into the New Paradigm and an elevated individual and collective consciousness reality is initiating the potential for a personal and global shift of consciousness on an unprecedented scale. The Shift is facilitating the acceleration of personal and global evolution. It seeks to guide Humanity away from fear and survival level consciousness, with its preoccupation, prioritization, promotion and glorification of the lower ‘mind’ and ‘ego’ which each hold an infinite capacity for adaptation, conditioning and ’doing’, and instead it encourages Humanity towards grounded and embodied experiences of what it is to live in truth, to feel alive, to thrive, be joyful and live in unity, as is made possible in a New Consciousness Paradigm.

New Paradigm Consciousness prioritizes, promotes and reveres the Heart and Soul as the very substance to be found at the core of a New Global Society. One that is built upon New Paradigm Values and an Ethos which promotes elevated consciousness and progressive conscious evolution. A New Paradigm that wholly encourages and facilitates Self-development, Self-realization and Self-actualization which, in turn, organically facilitate the same in terms of Global development, Global evolution and Global peace.

For thousands of years, Humanity has been locked into a ‘Mental Grid’ that overlays the Earth – a Mental Matrix. It is this grid which has kept us individually and collectively entrenched in the mode of unconscious ‘doing’. New Paradigm Consciousness calls for us to explore and cultivate the very meaning of humanness, which fundamentally is – Being. We are human beings, not human doings. Therefore being human, in the truest sense, means that we must dedicate ourselves more to Being, if we are ever to truly experience inner and world peace. Doing, per se, is no negative thing if it is ‘conscious doing’, however, the majority of doing that Humanity is caught in originates from an un-integrated ego and the lower mind, and is founded in old paradigm consciousness.

How to Shift from Human Doing to Human Being? – This is the Question

Here, I would like to share some of my own personal experience.

Aged sixteen, I began to consciously awaken and although I did not realize it then, I entered the Shift experience. In fact, it is true to say that we have all been engaged with this process, consciously or unconsciously, since incarnating into this life. However, returning to my own experience. Since this time, I have been going through a series of phases that have amounted to nothing less than a total breaking down of the old, in order to break through to the new.

When I was sixteen, the physical symptoms of the Shift phenomena began. (I have written about the ‘ascension’ process and its accompanying physical symptoms in my book, ’2012: A Clarion Call’). At this point in my life, and for some years following, I was still immersed in the old paradigm working at a job whilst at the same time managing intense, random and bizarre symptoms. These symptoms continued and reached a peak when I was thirty-nine. However, let us return chronologically to the phase I entered following the conscious beginning of my own Shift process.

From the ages of sixteen to twenty-eight, I was enduring an intensely challenging physical process. At twenty-eight, I made a personal life changing decision and this took me into an experience of consciously choosing to ‘disconnect’ from the ‘working world’, in order to begin to rediscover and reclaim my natural rhythmic day and night life cycles.

I still recall the isolating early days of this experience in terms of the finger pointing judgments of family, ‘friends’ and a society entrenched in conditioning. Negotiating ‘de-conditioning’ was like wading my way through a quagmire, yet I stayed true to my felt sense that I needed to do such for my own salvation.

And so, I spent three years de-conditioning from familial and societal expectations of how I ‘should’ live my life, and began to experiment with how, ideally, I would wish to live it.

After three years of de-conditioning, I decided to seek a transpersonal, humanistic psychotherapy. I was actively seeking a psychotherapy with a Soul, one that spoke to the Soul. I sought such so that I could begin to explore those questions and ‘reactions’ that were holding a spotlight over my evolutionary process. (I write in some detail of this in my new book, ‘A 21st Century Handbook for Psychological, Conscious and Spiritual Evolution’ available Bear & Co August 2013). Thus, I began an intense nine years phase of deep psychological inner-work, as well as psychotherapy training.

On March 16, 2002, after having peeled away layer after layer at a psychological level, I experienced a total physical collapse, followed by an experience of dying at Easter 2002. A specific reason for this was the need for an intense physical release of all that I had been processing, releasing and experiencing in terms of my evolution to that point. This had its roots in lifetimes of stored trauma, as well as in my ancestral conditioning. However, a major cause of this was also a preparation for my what was to come in my life at a later stage. (I speak more about this in an audio interview to be posted on WorldShift International in December 2012, and a detailed account can be found in my book ‘2012: A Clarion Call’).

It took seven harrowing years to recover from my total physical collapse. In 2009, I began to see a light at the end of the tunnel and, for the first time in seven years, I began to believe that I might just get my life back again. In March 2009, I started to write my first book, ’2012: A Clarion Call’, and for the first time felt aligned with my ‘Soul’s Higher Purpose’ (at that stage). In September of that same year, I became a co-initiator of WorldShift 2012, in November 2010 I founded WorldShift Movement and in November 2011, I co-founded WorldShift International with Kingsley Dennis. In February 2012, I began to write the first of a series of self-published books, and in March 2012 I started to write my second mainstream published book - ’A 21st Century Handbook for Psychological, Conscious and Spiritual Evolution’. And so it was, that I surfed that particular wave from 2009 to 2012.

However, on New Year’s Eve 2011, I entered into a near comatose state where for two days I was barely able to move or think. I came out of that and realized I had entered yet another evolutionary phase as, suddenly and unexpectedly, I began to question everything – again.

This time I was questioning what I was ‘doing’ and why? “For what purpose?” I began to question the multi-faceted world that my Work had brought me into contact with. This process of questioning had first arisen in November 2010, when I had lost one of my closest friends who transitioned this world. I was unable to work for three weeks and just sat in a space of “What am I doing” and “For what purpose?” I deeply contemplated just disappearing to live a simple life, close to nature, one that was joyful and not so serious, as at that point I was immersed in working 18 hours a day.

However, I talked myself round and got back onto the treadmill of working. This involved interacting with a diverse number of accomplished individuals who were all working within the ‘better-world’ arena. Often, I found myself overlooking the incongruent and contradictory attitudes and conduct of many whose promotion of New Paradigm values was at a juxtaposition with how they conducted themselves in their professional communications and personal lives. Their actions were often aligned with tried and tested old paradigm methods/rules/regulations and ways which best served getting their respective messages across with maximum success.

I found myself feeling disappointed, for I had imagined the ‘movers and shakers’ of the ‘better world’ arena to be inspirational role models who did not just talk the talk, but walked the talk in regard to their values, when it came to their better world values and ethos. It was at this point that I came to realize just how instrumental personal evolution is in terms of global evolution, and how without the former, the latter is unsustainable, no matter how ideal the vision. This insight, along with my ongoing involvement in that world, served as a precursor to yet another uncomfortable, personal evolutionary breakthrough process I was to experience.

2012 has not been the year I ‘expected’, but we all know what happens when we have expectations! Whereas I had ‘expected’ to be riding high on the crest of the wave of the Work I was doing, and how that was unfolding with all the potential it offered if I continued to work eighteen hour days, instead I found myself deeply questioning just what exactly was I doing and why? What was behind my reason for doing it, and for ‘overlooking’ the incongruent conduct of many I had encountered along the way? Why was I willing to ‘turn a blind eye’ and in that, collude with sustaining the old way? And, did I have to do so in order to continue to ride the crest of that high wave? For, if I chosen to be untrue to my own values, I could have surfed even bigger waves that would have come my way in that vocational arena.

What was it that I truly wished to do, and why? After much soul searching, I realized that the only thing I really wanted to do was that which I felt most passionate about and brought me the greatest joy. I ascertained that what I feel most passionate about and brings me the greatest joy is Love and Truth. So, whatever I was going to dedicate myself to needed to have those values running through to the very core. I realized that when it came to my vocational calling, what it boiled down to, in terms of what I felt most passionate about and brought me the greatest joy is writing about that which I feel most passionate about.

On New Years Eve, 2011, I began my descent into a deepening existential crisis that I first became aware of in my mid-thirties. By February 2012, I found myself with an overwhelming desire to wear white for six months and just BE. This was impossible owing to a continuous need to earn an income in order to meet basic survival needs. However, I was overtaken by a powerful urge to immediately stop anything that amounted to unconscious ‘doing’.

I had consciously entered the ‘Eye of the Needle of the Shift’. I had reached the ‘tipping point’ – only this was not the global ‘tipping point’ that has been extensively written about – but the ‘tipping point’ within the Self, which I have yet to have read about. If we are to survive the global ‘tipping point’ and emerge out of The Shift from a ‘survive’ to ‘thrive’ reality, then we must have done so within the Self. Having reached my own ‘tipping point’ on New Year’s Eve 2011, I tumbled into an existential crisis which has remained a constant for me throughout 2012.

The existential crisis I face, having stepped out of all adapting and conditioning, etc, is this: How and where do I fit into a world that physically remains rigidly locked into the old paradigm consciousness and its ways? For example, there are aspects of the work that I have been engaged in for many years that I simply cannot continue. And yet, this is the very work that has provided the financial resources I have needed to just barely meet my basic survival needs.

In 2009, just before I began writing, I started to feel extremely nauseous every time I considered doing something that I truly and deeply did not wish to do. And yet my mind and fear always dictated that I ‘must’ continue on that path, as it was my only means to meet my survival level needs. The writing made my heart sing, yet was unpaid, but my other paying work made me physically ill.

What was I to do? I literally limped on, adapting and telling myself that I must continue to do what I was doing, consoling myself that it supported the needs of others, but overlooking the fact that it no longer served my own deeper needs. When we are conditioned by our upbringing, our culture and the world, we can be masters of adaptation and self-delusion!

However, my body is my compass. It reveals everything to me that I need to know and remains my wisest counsel. And so, I remained feeling intensely unwell each time I continued to do something that I was no longer fully aligned with.

This year, my physical reactions reached a peak level and so I made the choice to finally fully listen to my body and follow its guidance. This amounted to making a choice to discontinue any aspect of my work which causes my body to react by making me feel unwell. To have made this choice however, has meant that my capacity for earning an income to cover my basic survival needs has reached zero point. I knew this would happen, which is why I had ignored my body’s guidance to discontinue adapting in order to survive.

Zero Point

And so, having followed my truth and lived in alignment with it, I find myself at ground zero when it comes to my capacity to meet my survival needs materially. My pulse for ‘life’ when it comes to colluding with old paradigm conditioning has flat-lined. As Eckhart Tolle so beautifully shares, “Death is a stripping away of all that is not you. The secret to life is to “die before you die”–and find that there is no death.”

‘Stripping away of all that is not you” - sums up arrival at Zero Point within the Self. Humanistic psychotherapy extols the theory of an ‘adapted self’ and an ‘Authentic Self’. Our human evolutionary journey is one of stripping away all that is the adapted self in order to fully embody the Authentic Self. (See my book ‘Ego/Self: A Fairytale’ to more fully understand this). However, where does a fully embodied Authentic Self that is not willing to adapt in any way whatsoever belong in the existing old paradigm global system?

I have come to realize from my own process that there are times when we really believe we are fully living and embodying our Authentic Self, and yet on hindsight, we come to realize that in fact, we were not, that we were still adapting, no matter how subtle in order to meet our survival (or in the more adapted, security) needs.

So, how do I, how do we, fully live the Authentic Self to the degree where no part of us is adapting in order to survive? Where no part of us is colluding with dysfunctional old paradigm ways in order to survive? Can those of us who believe we are fully living our Authentic Self truly say that we are, for to do so forces our removal from a dysfunctional system. Remaining in such a system takes us out of authentic relationship with our Self, with others, and with the world.

The Authentic Self is the True Self – and embodying such allows us to create a Self fulfilling prophecy of living a peaceful and harmonious life and serving as a catalyst for a peaceful and harmonious world. Yet, how do we live ABSOLUTE TRUTH and remain in the system as it is? This is the question that now preoccupies my every waking and sleeping moment.

The Human Ball of Doing

In the existing old paradigm system, in order to meet their basic survival needs most people are ‘doing’ what they do not want to ‘do’, rather than ‘being’ what they most wish to ‘be’. The current system is set up to support those who collude or align with it. Humanity has lost its way. It has become enmeshed and enslaved in a dysfunctional global culture. It has become anaesthetized by a cultural conditioning that begins at birth, by those who themselves have been conditioned by the generations before them.

During a recent conversation with a friend, he spoke of something he terms “The Human Ball of Doing”. In this “Ball” he views, “Humanity running around ‘doing’.” He spoke of no longer wishing to be a part of that “Ball, or part of that doing”. I was struck by this analogy when he shared it and had a flash of seeing myself free floating outside of the ‘Ball’, looking at it and noting that it was indeed very busy – doing! However, sitting in deep contemplation of the ‘Ball’, I began to wonder if it might be representative of the old Earth – the old world – the old paradigm, and yet I could not see another ‘Ball’ which might be termed ‘The Human Ball of Being’.

In this place of Zero Point, I find myself feeling out on a limb. It is as if I can no longer live in the old world however, the new one has yet to be present as a physical reality. Where do I land? Where do I belong now? For the New World Paradigm is in its early phase of anchoring into human consciousness. At this point, it remains an emerging reality within the consciousness of those individuals who have reached a level of personal evolution to recognize that a New Paradigm with a New Paradigm Consciousness is a consequence – and the positive outcome of The Shift.
The Incarnation of a New Paradigm Consciousness

I imagine, like myself, there must be many who are simply no longer able to align with any thought, word, action or deed that is not in full alignment with, and the truest expression of the truth of their fully embodied Authentic Self. And so, where to from here?

For myself, I find I am in a nigh impossible situation. For being aligned with the New World Paradigm Consciousness, I am fully aligned with the truth of who I am. As such, I am only able to align with that which is my personal experience of pure truth. This level of consciousness releases me from the Human Ball of Doing, yet where do I belong now?

At a practical level, the single most challenging aspect of such a release brings us back to the question of how to meet our basic survival needs? For myself, my rent is due. My car payment is due. My bills are due. I need to sustain my body with the nutrition, nourishment, protection and care that it needs. How do I do this if I follow the wisdom of my Soul, as expressed through the unequivocally accurate guidance of my physical and energetic bodies whose intense reactions to anything that is untruth block the path to the old paradigm ways I engaged with, in order to sustain myself?

The aspect of my work that I am no longer able to align with is what I had held on to in order to meet my basic survival needs. Yet, doing this has created immense disharmony within myself, and has resulted in ongoing physical reactions and symptoms that are not catalyzed by ‘ascension process’, (see ‘2012: A Clarion Call for full explanation of this), but instead caused by the suppression of fully living my Truth.

What is true is that whenever we ‘do’ something we do not truly wish to do, even if we believe that we are okay doing it, we impact our health and well being. It is both the act of doing that which we do not truly wish to do, along with the coping mechanisms that we adopt to manage adaptation, including addictions to food, beverages, alcohol, television, Facebook, the internet, sex, consumerism, media etc, etc which make us ill.

Most of today’s illnesses and diseases (dis-ease) are due to living inauthentic, repressed lives, living out of alignment with the truth of who we are, and living the dysfunctional expectations of others and society that keep us locked into the Mental Grid that has held us in a vice like grip for millennia.

A Shift – From The Mental Grid to The Heart Grid

The Mental Grid is a grid-work overlaying the psyche, the Self and the Earth. Each one of us is plugged into it, save for an exceptional few who live in the most hidden places on the Earth and have, by divine grace, managed to maintain an indigenous way of life which has kept them out of it. These are the happiest and healthiest human beings on the Earth. Humanity has been plugged into The Mental Grid for millennia. This grid is so entrenched within the psyche that we must each consciously recognize what we are caught in, order to extricate ourselves from it.

On the Winter Solstice of 1999, the Sun rose to conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way and the Plane of the Ecliptic to form a Cosmic Cross. This rare astronomical event, continuing until 2016, occurs just once in a 26,000 year cycle and could be seen to serve as a catalyst for the full activation of Christ Consciousness, which is simply another term for Heart Consciousness.

The rare 06.06.12 Venus transit heralded the anchoring and activation of this Heart Grid that has overlaid the Earth since the times of Lemuria, Atlantis, Buddha and Jesus. This has lain dormant for thousands of years, awaiting the moment on the Timeline of Humanity when ‘enough’ human Souls had attained a high degree of consciousness to activate and anchor it into the physical. Sufficient numbers of Humanity have now evolved to allow a Shift to occur from the ‘mental level’ and to begin to live from the heart.

Let us note here that each year the December Solstice Sun aligns with the Equator Midline of the Milky Way. To gain a perspective on this, imagine the Earth’s equator, which forms the division between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Astronomically, the Winter Solstice Sun has been pointing into the Southern Galactic Hemisphere for 13,000 years.

As we approach perfect alignment with the Galactic Equator, a thirty-six year process will conclude, at which point the Winter Solstice Sun will have been reoriented to point to the Northern Galactic Hemisphere. I mention this here because a reorientation of the focus of the Winter Solstice Sun into the Northern Galactic Hemisphere, following 13,000 years of pointing into the Southern Galactic Hemisphere, is a reflection of a reorientation, – a Shift of consciousness that is occurring within the personal and collective psyche. (For a full list of astronomical shifts and Earth changes, please see ‘2012: A Clarion Call’).

Incarnating a New World Paradigm

And so, for those of us who have arrived at Zero Point within ourselves – who feel as if we have fallen into a ‘gap’ – we must take heart and recognize that what we have done is take an evolutionary leap from the old to the New Paradigm, from the Mental Matrix to the Heart Matrix. The existential question for those of us who are pledging a commitment to no longer adapt themselves in any way that brings them out of full alignment with living the whole truth and nothing but the truth of who they are and why they are here, (which is to support the physical incarnation of a New World Paradigm with a New Paradigm Consciousness), is this: How do we do so? How do we live fully aligned lives with a New Paradigm Consciousness that has yet to physically incarnate?

The old paradigm system is not set up to support those who wish to unhook themselves from the ‘Mental Grid’, and focus their energies and skills towards building a new global society that is founded in the Heart Grid and New Paradigm Consciousness. Nor will it seek to do so – why would it? For to support such would amount to nothing less than whole-scale change, and the transformation of global socio-political/environmental/ecological policy. Existing global systems would be required to adapt existing, and initiate new, policies that prioritize the heart, Soul and well being of the both the individual and the Collective. A seismic Shift from consumerism to humanitarianism would be required at every level of policy, in every country in the world.

So, for those of us who might be considered the ‘first wave’ of fully embodied expressions of the Authentic Self, we find ourselves in existential contemplation asking ourselves such questions as to how to sustain ourselves during this Transition – the space between physically incarnate paradigms? How do refrain from giving into old paradigm ways to ensure the cost of basic survival needs are met, which only serves to perpetuate the distorted values of the old paradigm?

How do we move forward with integrity, authenticity, grace, honesty and respect, in ways that are non-confrontational in terms of our choice for non-participation in old dysfunctional global systems, in which our higher values and vision for a better world do not fit? How do we remain true to our Authentic Selves and survive? Where is the place for those of us who no longer wish to collude with a globally dysfunctional system, whose covert aim is to maintain an anaesthetized and distracted Humanity?

An Awakened Humanity

Let us imagine for a moment the kind of New Paradigm society that could begin to unfold if a global system was in place that served the needs of all people and animals, nature and the Earth? What would happen if the money that is spent on perpetuating consumerism and defense was instead allocated for wellness, health and harmony programs for all citizens? What would happen if government policy and public resources were focused on care for the entire community, locally and globally? What could be possible if there were ‘needs appropriate’ care for all? If fully funded ‘family harmony’ programs were available? And, if psychological support and peace retreats were offered to all at specific age thresholds throughout life, for example; 18, 21, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, etc?

What would happen if a fraction of the money spent on maintaining a dysfunctional system was reallocated to support those gifted philosophers, artists, musicians, writers, poets and those brilliant pioneers in the fields aligned with New Paradigm Consciousness, whose sole focus is to bring beauty, wisdom, harmony, balance and peace to the world? What might happen if the values and practice of deep care for ourselves, each other, the animals, nature, and the Earth were instilled as core teaching elements within the educational system and the working environment?

What could be possible if funding were there for all who wish to follow their greatest dreams? What kind of world would we live in if everyone had the opportunity to explore their own higher ideals? Many years ago, my mother revealed to me that when she was young she had wanted to become an opera singer, yet owing to an absence of funding to support her in that, she instead became a manager in a warehouse. As she shared her story and the light of that dream once again flashed across her face and danced in her eyes, rapidly disappearing as she returned back to our conversation, I could see how that light had been extinguished within her by her early twenties, at the realization of having to let go of her childhood dream. How many have grown up with a vision of all they hoped life would be, only to have lost that pure passion and joy to the harsh reality of life in the current system?

We need a new system. One which honors, supports and validates the highest ideal of each individual. A system where the emphasis is not on maintaining a fear based paradigm, and personal gain at the expense of another. A non-dualistic system which serves to unify and fosters unity within Self, and with others. We need a new system where none are destined to fall into a ‘gap’ when their personal evolution takes them to a threshold in which they need to take a leap, and be supported in that. We need a system which fully supports and celebrates the unfolding and embodying of the Authentic Self – one which recognizes how each time this occurs the community, the country, and the world becomes a more beautiful and peaceful place.

Where To From Here?

However, returning to the now…

If I can conclude with my own experience. How do I stay fully present in my Authentic Self, rooted in the truth that is found at Zero Point within the Self, in a world in which money, not love and care, is the currency? For this is the reality of the current archaic dysfunctional old paradigm system. It is one in which the quality of life, in terms of basic survival needs, is determined by money.

How many of our hopes and dreams are let go of in order to ensure that our basic survival needs are met? And what happens to those, like myself, who choose truth at all costs? How do we extricate ourselves from survival level mentality, the Mental Matrix, the “Ball of Doing”, in order to bestow upon the world the wealth of true wisdom and beauty that is only to be found within the heart and Soul? How do we walk a path of unequivocal truth that speaks to entirely different values to those of the old paradigm system? What happens to those who are no longer able to exist in the old dysfunctional paradigm which determines that money makes the world go around? A system which insists that we must continually strive and adapt in order to secure enough income to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table?

Where to from here for many of those who are the midwifes of a newly incarnating Paradigm that IS the phenomenon termed The Great Shift? At what cost – living Absolute Truth?

As 2012 has unfolded, I have moved further and further away from ‘doing’, as I have consciously chosen to respond to a Call that arises from the core of my Soul. A Call which urges me to simply BE true, and to BE what I feel most passionate about and brings me the greatest joy.

I feel that we are each called to BE that which will most support the physical incarnation of a New World Paradigm. No role is greater than another. That which we feel most passionate about and brings us the greatest joy, is an instrumental contribution to the co-creation of a New World Paradigm when aligned with the New Consciousness, for it supports the birth of a New Epoch for Humanity. One which has long been prophesied throughout millennia as a New Golden Age. In my heart of hearts, my deepest wish is to write and serve as a facilitator for the physical anchoring of a New World Paradigm, and as a guiding Light for the Way forward for Humanity, at a personal and global evolutionary level.

Six Core Values for an Evolving World & Twelve Foundation Stones for a New World Paradigm

I am in the Eye of the Needle, in terms of the Shift. I have reached Zero Point within myself. There is no turning back, no compromising, no egoic self negotiating, no collusion. I have let go and let God/Source. I have to trust and surrender fully. I do not have the means by which to meet my basic survival needs. I am no longer able to adapt and ‘do’ what I must ‘do’ in order to survive.

To continue to do so is inauthentic, neither is it aligned with the New Paradigm Consciousness which has at its heart ‘Six Core Values for an Evolving World‘ and ‘Twelve Foundation Stones for a New World Paradigm’. These form the bedrock of WorldShift International and WorldShift Movement. I have written about these in my new book where a full explanation for each can be found.

The Six Core Values are: Peace, Restorative Justice, Sustainability, Compassionate Action, Conscious Communication and Conscious Evolution. The Twelve Foundation Stones for a New World Paradigm are: Equality, Inclusivity, Understanding, Forgiveness, Empathy, Co-Creation, Co-Operation, Co-Support, Collaboration, Non-Monetary Transactions, Non-Violent/Compassionate Communication, Unconditional Giving, Receiving and Doing.

And so, I conclude here.

What price Truth?

What price freedom?

What price the Shift – from adapted to Authentic Self?

What outcome for one who is no longer able to adapt in an old paradigm system in order to survive?

I am living this as my reality now and I shall let you know what I discover the other side of the Shift.

In Love and Truth.
